Whether you’re seeking answers, encouragement, or a closer walk with God, this podcast is here to help you stay firmly rooted in the truth of God’s Word.

In today’s episode, we will explore a profound theme: "At His Feet." This subject takes us through various encounters in the Bible where individuals found themselves at the feet of Jesus. These encounters are not just moments of physical proximity; they reveal deeper spiritual truths about worship, humility, submission, and transformation.

We will stay rooted in the Scriptures and explore the significance of being “at His feet” from a biblical perspective. Let us open our hearts and minds as we allow the Word of God to reveal to us the power and meaning of this phrase.

Part 1: The Position of Worship and Reverence

When we think of being “at His feet,” the first thing that often comes to mind is worship. The Bible frequently uses the image of being at the feet of Jesus to describe reverence, adoration, and surrender. One of the clearest examples of this can be found in the Gospels, particularly in the story of Mary of Bethany.

Luke 10:39 (ESV):

"And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching."

In this passage, we see Mary, the sister of Martha, sitting at the feet of Jesus. This act is one of deep humility and receptiveness. Mary’s position is not merely physical but spiritual. By sitting at the feet of Jesus, she places herself in a position to receive His words, His teaching, and His guidance. This act is a symbol of devotion and attentiveness.

Explanation and Application:

To sit at the feet of Jesus means to humble ourselves before Him, acknowledging His Lordship. It is a position of surrender where we submit our will to His, listening closely to His voice. In a world full of distractions, it can be difficult to find time to sit quietly at the feet of Jesus, but this act is one of the most essential practices for every believer. It is at His feet that we learn, grow, and are transformed.
