Evening Devotional - God Knows You, And Wants To Be Known In Your Life

Good evening, and welcome to tonight’s devotional on The Living Word Cast. I’m Pastor Michael Chilcott, and it’s a blessing to have you join me as we reflect on God’s Word before we end our day. Our evening devotionals are a time for us to wind down, reflect, and seek God's peace. Tonight, I want to remind you of something incredibly important: God knows you, and He wants to be known in your life.
This truth is so powerful because it means that, no matter what you’ve been through today or what you’re facing, God is intimately aware of your life. Not only that, but He desires to have a personal relationship with you. He’s not distant or detached—He’s present, and He longs to be involved in every aspect of your life.
Let’s take some time to explore this powerful truth from the Scriptures tonight.
Scripture Reading
We’ll begin withPsalm 139:1-4:
“O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.” (Psalm 139:1-4, ESV)
This passage speaks to the incredible depth of God’s knowledge of us. David begins with an acknowledgment that God has searched him and known him. Think about that for a moment—God knows everything about you. He knows your routines, your thoughts, your fears, your dreams, and even your heart’s desires.
There is nothing hidden from God. He knows you more intimately than anyone else, more deeply than you even know yourself. And yet, despite this deep knowledge, He still loves you with an everlasting love. It’s this knowing, this intimate relationship, that God desires with each of us.
