Forgiveness Is Freedom

Scripture:
"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." – Ephesians 4:32 (NIV)
Forgiveness is one of the most powerful gifts you can receive—and one of the most powerful gifts you can give. It's not just about setting someone else free; it’s about setting yourself free. Unforgiveness is a heavy chain—it keeps your heart tied to pain, resentment, and the past. But God invites you into something better: freedom through grace.
You’ve been forgiven much. Jesus didn’t wait for you to deserve it—He offered it while you were still broken. And now, He calls you to extend that same mercy to others. Forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting or excusing what happened. It means choosing to release the grip of offense so you can walk forward without bitterness weighing you down.
When you forgive, you’re not saying the wound didn’t matter—you’re saying it doesn’t have the power to define you anymore. Forgiveness isn’t weakness—it’s spiritual strength.
Ask God this morning if there’s anyone you’re still holding in your heart with unforgiveness. Maybe it’s someone from your past… or maybe it’s yourself. Invite Him into those places. Take one step toward releasing the offense and receiving the healing only He can give.
