Morning Devotional - Living by Faith, Not by Sight

Good morning, and welcome to today’s devotional on Living by Faith, Not by Sight.

Our focus today is on 2 Corinthians 5:7:

"For we walk by faith, not by sight."

As we begin a new day, it is essential to remember this truth: we are called to walk by faith, not by what we see. The world often emphasizes what can be observed with our eyes, urging us to base our decisions on visible circumstances and immediate understanding. But as believers, we know that the way of the Lord is different.

Paul, in his letter to the Corinthians, reminds us that our walk—our daily life—is not to be determined by what is before us in the physical realm. The things we see, the challenges we face, the uncertainties that fill our minds—they are all temporary and changeable. But faith is steadfast. Faith is the lens through which we view the world, and it is anchored in the unchanging promises of God.

This morning, I encourage you to step into your day with the confidence that comes from trusting God, even when the road ahead may seem unclear. We may not always understand why certain things happen, or why circumstances don’t seem to align with our expectations, but we can trust in God’s perfect plan. Faith calls us to rest in His wisdom and to believe that He is working for our good, even when we cannot immediately see the results.

In Hebrews 11:1, we are reminded that "faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." While our eyes may not always reveal the whole picture, our faith assures us that God’s promises are true and will come to pass. And so, we press on with hearts full of trust in His sovereignty, knowing that He holds every moment in His hands.

As you move through today, let this verse from 2 Corinthians be your guiding light: “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” Let your trust in God’s plan be greater than any doubts or worries that may arise. Walk in the assurance that He is with you, leading you, and that you are never alone.
