The book of 2 Peter is the second letter written by the Apostle Peter to Christians, encouraging them to remain steadfast in their faith despite false teachings and the coming challenges. Peter emphasizes the importance of growing in the knowledge of God, the certainty of Christ’s return, and the need to be vigilant against deception.


Chapter 1: The Call to Grow in Faith and KnowledgeKey Verses:

  • 2 Peter 1:3 – "His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence."

  • 2 Peter 1:5-7 – "For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love."

  • 2 Peter 1:19 – "And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts."
