Resting in God’s Grace, Not Man’s Expectations

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. - Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV)

As the day comes to a close, take a moment to reflect: Did you feel pressure today to live up to impossible standards? Were you weighed down by expectations—either from yourself or from others? If so, Jesus has an invitation for you: Come to me, and I will give you rest.

This morning, we talked about how God never called us to live by man-made standards. Instead, He asks us to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with Him (Micah 6:8). Tonight, let’s go a step further and embrace the rest that Jesus offers.
