Our goal is to provide sound theological and biblical guidance on all things Scripture, helping you grow deeper in your understanding of the Bible and your relationship with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Whether you’re seeking answers, encouragement, or a closer walk with God, this podcast is here to help you stay firmly rooted in the truth of God’s Word.
Today we’re tackling a question that many people grapple with: 'Why can't I meditate my way to a better life?' This question touches on practices found in both secular and New Age teachings, but today, we’ll explore how the Bible addresses meditation and why it’s vastly different from popular concepts of self-improvement.
As always, we’ll be diving into Scripture to get a biblical perspective, and today we have some powerful passages to look at. So grab your Bible and let's dive in."
The Practice of Meditation
"To begin, let’s take a moment to understand what we typically mean by meditation in our culture. If you’ve heard of meditation in a secular or New Age context, it usually refers to practices where you empty your mind to achieve a state of peace or enlightenment. You might picture sitting quietly, focusing on your breath, or repeating mantras. The goal is often to clear your mind and attain inner peace or personal enlightenment.
But as we’ll see today, the Bible teaches us a radically different approach to meditation. Let’s start by looking at Psalm 1:2-3, which offers insight into what godly meditation should look like."
